Characters: Letters Unposted

Henry Brown

It is (fictional) Henry Brown who has agreed to take in Alexander, giving him room and board.  He provides wood for the townspeople who don't have their own woodlots, as well as occasionally making basic furniture when needed.  He lives simply and has been alone for the past three years since his wife passed.

Becoming a bit of a recluse during this time, he has had little contact with his son and grandson, Thomas.  Having gotten used to living alone and a quiet house, he spoke infrequently when the young boy joined him.  Now that there are others in his home, his world will open up as he forms new bonds and strengthens old ones.
